I may have to switch to DaVinci Resolve.

Apple adopting a subscription model was the first thing that came to mind when they purchased Pixelmator Pro. Well, here we are.

I know they’ve said the standalone apps will continue to work, but we’ve seen this movie before. One doesn't have to be a genius to predict that the versions in Creator Studio will receive more and more attention as time goes by.

One of the reasons I opted for Final Cut and Motion in the first place was the one-time purchase. They are far more advanced than I actually need and quite expensive, but since there was no subscription, the investment felt worth it.

In a way, this situation is encouraging me to take a major step in the Digital Caveman project: switching to Linux. But to accomplish that, I first have to get used to a few new apps, and one of them is certainly a big challenge. It’s time to learn DaVinci Resolve.
